Diving with the Cape fur seals of Duiker Island
Located just off the coast of Cape Town in the small village of Hout Bay, lies Duiker Island. This uninhabited island is home to a large colony of Cape fur seals, providing a unique snorkelling adventure to those brave enough to slide into its icy waters. A short boat ride along the rugged cliffs of the Sentinel provides a scenic yet easy access to the playful and agile seals in their natural habitat.
If you time your trip right you may get lucky and get approached by a number of young playful seal pups.
Duiker Island promises an unforgettable experience for all and you won't even need to get in the water if you don't want. Our guides from Seal Snorkelling were even so kind as to pour warm water in our wetsuits after the dive was done.
